Hello!

Thanks for stopping to visit my web-site. I imagine many people have detoured
on their career paths. My career goals were to be a teacher or a lawyer.
Somehow, I ended up specializing in the counseling of children diagnosed with
AD/HD. Somehow, I ended up managing secured juvenile facilities, and
learning most of the adolescents had been victims of sex crimes. Most, if not all,
of the victims felt responsible for not knowing how to make it STOP.

Then, somehow, I ended up assessing sex offenders under Florida's Jimmy
Ryce laws. I would never have thought I could counsel child victims, and
then assess offenders of those same violations and crimes. Being on both sides
allowed me to understand predator behaviors and characteristics of persons
who victimized children. And finally, I got to see another side of the
crimes-against-children chapter when I counseled prisoners who were
victimized and then victimized others. Only this time, I learned about all the
female offenders who victimized male children.

So, where do we go from here? What are we doing wrong when 1/2 million
children will be targets of sex crimes, each year? What are we doing right
when so many are now caught? What could we do better so millions of
children don't have to suffer, right in their own homes? I dream of a time for
ZERO TOLERANCE of crimes against children.
